It would appear that the latest fight card from the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion may have not hit the high level of arena attendance that may have initially been hoped for.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted another stunning night of fights over the weekend. This time around, the promotion hosted the highly anticipated fight card of UFC Fight Night 128 on Saturday night, April 21.
The event took place inside the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The live FS1 broadcast event featured a lightweight war between Kevin Lee and Edson Barboza in the night’s main event. Co-headlining the card, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar went toe-to-toe with Cub Swanson in a featherweight battle for division dominance.
With all of that in mind, it has since been reported that UFC Fight Night 128 hit record low attendance numbers for the year of 2018. Taking to Twitter, mixed martial arts reporter Jed Goodman has reported that the attendance record for the event was only 9,541.
No UFC fight night for the year of 2018 his hit below 10,000 in their attendance records, making for a year low for the UFC.
