Black UFC Fighters React To Mike Perry’s Constant Use Of The “N” Word

UFC welterweight Mike Perry is currently gearing up to face off against a seriously tough opponent inside the octagon. That being said, the knockout artist is now stirring controversy following a recent social media message.

Taking to Twitter, “Platinum” Mike Perry recently offered a message to UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Within the message, Perry used the “N” word, causing some fighters to speak out. Prior, Perry revealed that he is 2% African. The fighter claimed that he was granted the ability to use the term due to his heritage.

“My n**ga @TWooodley be Instagram livin and drivin lol hope there is not a video of you getting pulled over on IG Live one day PATNA ! ( Skreet slang for Partner ) peep the tone in my imoji skin #RNS”

While Tyron Woodley would go on to give his own thoughts on the fighter’s use of the term, many other fighters have taken a more critical approach.

Taking to social media, UFC competitors Corey Anderson, Gerald Harris and Aljamain Sterling have all decided to offer their thoughts on Perry using the word. Check out what they had to say down below:

“Yo @phillyfreshmma …..yo mans took that 2% and ran with it. This YO MANS?! HE TRUPPIN TRIPPIN! I AINT NEVA EVA SEEN HIM ACT LIKE THIS! HE ACTIN OUTTA CHARACTER!!!”

“This is like when the white homie in one hood may say it, but then they go to another part of town and he gets checked. You don’t get a pass from everyone just because a few people let you say it. You can piss off a whole new audience talking like this.”

“Just cause it’s ‘just a word’ to you, doesn’t mean everyone else feels the same way you do about it. What you eat, don’t make me sh*t. If I have to break this down again, to GROWN men, then you’re a lost cause OR you just don’t RESPECT others enough to use common sense.”

Mike Perry is set to fight Yancy Medeiros at UFC 226. The live pay-per-view event will take place July 7 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
