UFC women’s strawweight Mackenzie Dern made her sophomore octagon performance over the weekend. However, the week leading up to the fight has not gone without its controversy.
Dern went toe-to-toe with Amanda Cooper on the live pay-per-view main card of UFC 224, the highly anticipated sporting event that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Dern earned a submission victory over Cooper, bringing the fighter to 7-0 in her undefeated streak. Leading up to the fight, Dern missed weight for the match by a massive total of 7.4 pounds.
The fighter also revealed during the UFC 224 Post-Fight Press Conference that she was made to leave her fight camp at The MMA Lab four weeks before UFC 224.
Taking to Twitter, teammates Lauren Murphy and Jocelyn J Lybarger have come forward to claim that Dern is not telling the entire truth concerning the matter. Murphy first claimed that Dern was not removed from her camp four weeks before the fight.
Lybarger later concurred.
Later taking back to Twitter, Murphy offered some details on the situation. Check it out below:
