Woodley Says Mike Perry Threatened Him With A Beating, Then Took His MMA Class

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is currently set to face off against undefeated contender Darren Till in the pay-per-view main event of UFC 228 on Sept. 8. That being said, the reigning title holder recently took a moment to discuss one of the division’s other tough competitors.

Talented knockout artist Mike Perry is currently set to take on UFC veteran Donald Cerrone at UFC Fight Night 139 on Nov. 10. Speaking to media after UFC 227 last weekend, Tyron Woodley offered some interesting insight into a previous interaction with “Platinum” Mike Perry.

“Perry is crazy. I like Perry. Ya’ll are just now starting to like Perry, but I’ve been saying it for a long time. Perry pulled up to me in Orlando, Florida. I was doing a seminar.

“I didn’t know him at the time. I heard his name and he came up to me and said ‘I’m coming to take your belt, right to my face.’ I said, ‘Alright, cool.’ He said, ‘Alright, I’m going to take your seminar too.’ So then he took my seminar. But, he took it for real.

“He was really learning. I was doing demonstrations and stuff, but he’s always had my respect since then.”
