Dustin Poirier was initially set to welcome UFC superstar Nate Diaz back into the octagon later this year. However, the fight will no longer be taking place. Now Poirier has come forward to reveal his fight cancelling injury.
Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz were initially set to fight in the co-main event of UFC 230. The event is set to take place Nov. 3 within the Madison Square Garden in New York. UFC 230 will be featured live on pay-per-view for fight fans around the world.
However, Poirier was forced to pull out of the match up after suffering an injury. Nate Diaz has since also been removed from the card. Taking to Twitter, Dustin Poirier has come forward with a few updates on his injury. Check it out below.
“Small setbacks happen.. I’m flying out to LA next week to get a second opinion on my injury and I’ll have an idea of when I can return to compete, I can’t wait to get back in the Octagon!! Thank you all for the support”
