The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 229 on Saturday, Oct. 6. The stunning event featured the massive octagon return of mixed martial arts megastar Conor McGregor in the night’s live pay-per-view headliner.
For the fight, “Notorious” faced off against undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in a battle for division supremacy. MMA’s Jed I. Goodman has since come forward to report that early estimates have come in for the pay-per-view sales of UFC 229.
The event is expected to grace a massive 2.4 million sales, a record shattering total for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
“WON reporting early estimates for #UFC229 are more than 2.35m buys with the expectation the number will top 2.4M. It’s currently at 1.9M for traditional PPV and around 470k to 480k estimated on streaming buys.”
