Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo earned the UFC flyweight title with a decision victory over long standing champion Demetrious Johnson back at UFC 227. Now it would appear that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is potentially looking to lock down a super fight between the new reigning champion and T.J. Dillashaw.
After earning his flyweight title, Henry Cejudo went on to call out the winner of UFC 227’s headlining UFC bantamweight title fight between T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt. Dillashaw went on to defend his title, ultimately accepting Cejudo’s call out.
Now the Los Angeles Times has come forward to report that the UFC is now set to host the live pay-per-view fight card for UFC 233 on Jan. 26 within the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
The news source concluded that they were informed by a UFC official that a super fight between Henry Cejudo and T.J. Dillashaw is being targeted for the event. However, UFC President Dana White has since revealed to the Los Angeles Times that the fight has yet to be finalized.
