Conor’s Coach Suffers Eye Damage During Recent High-Profile Grappling Event

Brazilian Ji-Jitsu coach for UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, Dillion Danis emerged victorious eight days ago, beating AJ Agazarm in overtime at Chael Sonnen’s, Submission Underground III.

When the fight ended, you could see Danis’ left eye was closed when he did a post-match interview with Sonnen. No one knew what was wrong but we have a little bit of clarity by a post from Danis on Instagram.

“Never loved us”, Danis said.

Danis hasn’t said when in the grappling match that he got the black eye.

Danis became known in the MMA circles when he started helping McGregor before his UFC 202 rematch against Nate Diaz in August and continued the trend when McGregor won the 155-pound title from Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November.

In the past, Danis’ expressed interest in competing in MMA and wouldn’t mind for his debut to be against Sage Northcutt.
