Ferguson Says He Should Be Headlining UFC 209, Real Headliner Tyrone Woodley Responds

With two title fights on the line, this weekend’s UFC 209 event is going to be an exciting one. Tony Ferguson is looking to put No. 1 contender Khabib Nurmagomedov out for good, as the two battle in the wake of lightweight champion Conor McGregor’s momentary departure from the division. Yet, Ferguson and Nurmagomedov’s interim belt title fight is only the co-main event.

Stephen Thompson and welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will be facing off in a title fight rematch for the main event of UFC 209.

It would appear that Tony Ferguson is dissatisfied with his co-main event position, as the fighter stated in the UFC 209 conference call that he should be fighting in the main event.

“Well, look man, if somebody (Nurmagomedov) doesn’t piss me off , I’ll finish him in the first round. If this dude pisses me off, I’m going to drag him into deep waters so he can deal with the hammerhead.” Ferguson said.

“You guys are going to see ******* fireworks. This should be the main event. I don’t know why Stephen Thompson and Tyron Woodley are the main event. But, this is the **** everybody’s talking about. This is the third time. Third time’s the charm.” Ferguson said, before being cut off viciously by the welterweight champion.

“Because I’m a world champion and you’re not, that’s why it’s the main event.” Tyron Woodley shot back.

UFC 209 will take place this Saturday in the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena.
