Former WWE Superstar Rosey, Older Brother Of Roman Reigns, Passes Away At 47

The professional wrestling community is mourning a tragic loss as SI is reporting that Matt “Rosey” Anoa’i has passed away at just forty-seven years old. Matt is the older brother of current WWE Superstar Roman Reigns and is essentially a member of World Wrestling Entertainment royalty as he is part of the famous Anoa’i family.

Anoa’i wrestled under the moniker of multiple names while in professional wrestling, but perhaps his two most famous gimmicks (characters) took place during his time under the WWE umbrella under the name of Rosey.

Rosey was half of the powerhouse tag team “Three Minute Warning”. Alongside his real-life cousin Eddie Fatu, then going as “Jamal”, “Three Minute Warning” captured were perenial contenders to the WWE World Tag Team Championships. It wasn’t until their release from the promotion that the tag team would eventually win gold at Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, Heartland Wrestling Association, and Memphis Championship Wrestling.

Rosey would see greater success under the WWE Umbrella when he tagged with Shane “Hurricane” Helms to form a super-hero tag team. Hurricane, an established super hero in the world of pro wrestling, took Rosey under his wing and made him a “Super Hero In Training”, or “S.H.I.T.” for short, and they eventually went on to win the WWE World Tag Team Championships.

We here at MMA Imports are saddened by the news of this passing and we would like to wish the Anoa’i family our condolences.
