UFC Results: Ross Pearson Knocked Out By Brutal Knee


On Saturday night, the UFC returned to the land down under for an exciting Fight Night event in Auckland, New Zealand.

In the main event, two of the best heavyweights in the UFC were set to do battle as Mark Hunt fought Derrick Lewis.

But before the pivotal heavyweight battle, the UFC once again featured a full night of intriguing bouts.

In an exciting lightweight battle, hometown hero Dan Hooker fought longtime UFC veteran Ross Pearson.

Pearson threw the first blow of the fight. Hooker used his reach advantage and landed multiple leg kicks from afar. Pearson went for a takedown but failed to get his opponent down. Pearson struggled to close the distance while Hooker continued to land kicks to Pearson’s leg and body. Hooker’s kicks began to vary with strikes to the legs, body, and head. Hooker went for a takedown but Pearson stuffed it. The round ended with Hooker continuing to throw kicks.

Pearson landed a leg kick of his own to start the middle round. Pearson was the aggressor early in the round but struggled to close the distance between him and his opponent. Hooker started using his jab to keep Pearson at bay.Both fighters found a way to bust open their opponent in the second round. Hooker later landed a devasting knee to the head that knocked out the UFC veteran.
