On Sunday, Cynthia Calvillo earned the biggest win of her MMA career.
In the co-main event of a UFC Fight Night in Glasgow, Scotland, Calvillo earned a unanimous decision victory over Joanne Calderwood.
Calderwood was by far Calvillo’s toughest test to date, but Calvillo rised to the occassion. Throughout the fight, Calderwood had success in the standup department, but Calvillo would time her takedowns perfectly towards the end of the first and third round.
On the ground, Calvillo did the most damage of the entire fight. At the end of both the first and final rounds, Calvillo appeared to be close to finshing the fight by submission.
Calvillo has been one of the most active fighters in the UFC in 2017. This year she has already won four fights, her last three were in the UFC.
