Jon Jones Explains How He Gets Away With Eye Pokes, In Controversial Interview From First D.C. Fight

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is not shy about cheating in past fights.

During an interview for the film “The Hurt Business,” Jones admitted to poking people in the eyes during his fights.

“So Daniel Cormier is saying, before the fight, that I’ll end up poking him in the eyes at some point. The reason he says that is because I do poke people in the eyes, and it’s very illegal, but I do it,” Jones said.

“I react to people trying to punch me in the face by usually sticking my hand out and pushing their face away.”

Jones went on to admit that he lies to people and says he doesn’t mean to poke his opponent in the eyes.

“I try to tell people it’s unintentional, but now I’m kind of known for it,” Jones said.

Jones is scheduled to fight UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 214 on Saturday, July 29.
