On Saturday, former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman was in a must-win situation.
After losing his last three fights, Weidman fought fellow middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of a UFC on FOX show in New York.
Weidman went on to rise to the occasion. After being dropped and hurt in the first round, Weidman came back and dominated. In the end, Weidman submitted Gastelum in the third round.
During his post-fight interview, Weidman shared some strong words towards UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping.
“That British bum, who is crying in his freaking house right now, I’m back baby!” Weidman said.
“I’m back! What’s up? Stop hiding from the real men. Let’s go, baby. I’m the champ and everyone knows it.”
With his win over Gastelum, Weidman is right back at the top of the UFC 185-pound division and could find himself in a title fight sooner rather than later.
