Elite Boxers Cancel Plans To Help Conor Train Following Paulie Fallout

One of the best boxers in the world canceled his plans to train with UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor because of the way Paulie Malignaggi was treated by McGregor.

According to Malignaggi, former boxing champion Andre Berto decided not to help McGregor train for his professional boxing debut because of what happened between McGregor and Malignaggi.

Malignaggi joined McGregor’s training camp as a sparring partner but left the camp after only a few sessions after not liking the way he was treated. Malignaggi was upset about photos released of McGregor landing shots on him.

“I spoke to Andre Berto. Andre was supposed to go there and box on Saturday, and he changed his mind after seeing what happened with me,” Malignaggi said in a recent interview.

Berto is the last boxer to fight Floyd “Money” Mayweather and could have greatly benefited McGregor while he prepares to fight the boxing legend.

“He’s going to have trouble getting any help in boxing, because the sneaky tactics, the sneaky qualities that he has now can no longer be looked at as a coincidence,” Malignaggi said.

Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
