Manager Explains Why Jon Jones Is Demanding That Brock Lesnar Fight

Malki Kawa, the manager of UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, has revealed why Jones wants to fight former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.

Kawa says Jones is taking a page from UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s playbook and is searching for the fights that will make him the most money.

“(Jon) said many times that Conor McGregor has inspired him in different ways and he’s looked up to some of the stuff he’s done,” Kawa said on a recent edition of The MMA Hour episode.

“I think Jon is realizing that there is an opportunity to make a lot of money, and I think the biggest money fight out there for him right now is Brock Lesnar. And if that can happen, I think that’s the fight that he would prefer over everything else.”

On Saturday, at UFC 214, Jones regained the UFC light heavyweight title after knocking out his longtime rival Daniel Cormier. After his win, Jones called out Lesnar and challenged him to a fight inside the Octagon.
