Fighter Steps Up On 4 Days Notice, Fills Latest Void On UFC Sydney Card

UFC featherweight Alexander Volkanovski has been having some serious trouble locking down an opponent for the Ultimate Fighting Championship‘s big return to Australia. However, it would appear that the mixed martial artist has finally found an opponent.

Volkanovski was nearly set to face Jeremy Kennedy for the event, but the fighter suffered an injury. After that, Humberto Bandenay was another potential opponent for the fighter. However, both competitors were eventually removed over injuries. Now the UFC has announced a third opponent for Volkanovski.

The UFC announced on Tuesday that Volkanovski will now be going toe-to-toe with Shane Young. Young will be making his octagon debut on the night’s card, as Volkanovski is riding a two fight winning streak under the UFC banner.
