Joanna’s Got No Remorse After Thursday’s Staredown: ‘A real punch would have knocked her out’

There were fireworks at the UFC 217 press conference today in New York city between UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and top ranked challenger “Thug” Rose Namajunas. Jedrzejczyk and Namajunas are set to square off this Saturday night, November 4th, at Madison Square Garden.

The UFC champion has been trying to get into Rose’s head every chance she gets but hasn’t gotten much of a reaction from her. During an earlier media call Joanna said Rose was mentally weak and wasn’t capable of handling the responsibilities as champion, but she refused to engage in the trash talk with Jedrzejczyk.

As the two faced off during the pre-fight press conference Jedrzejczyk was once again in full intimidation mode. When they finally came face to face, Joanna put the trash talk right to “Thug” Roses face, then  removed her sunglasses and put her fist right to Rose’s face, who just sat there with a catatonic stare.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk took to her social media to address the intense moment she had with her title challenger.

“That wasn’t a punch, a punch would have knocked her out, it was just a tap” Jedrzejczyk said in an twitter post following the staredown with Namajunas.
