McGregor Releases Lengthy Statement, And It Sounds Like He’s Ready For A UFC Return

UFC lightweight world champion Conor McGregor is the most paid athlete in all of UFC and MMA history. He has by far eclipsed even his closest second, making him the richest fighter in the sport’s 25 + year history. Now, in a new statement he explains why he’s so paid, and it even sounds like he’s ready for a UFC return.

Many doubt Conor McGregor will return to defend his UFC world title, even UFC president Dana White has grown skeptical as of late. The UFC boss hit the media this week, giving McGregor a deadline to return, otherwise lose his belt.

Should Conor McGregor wait until after summer for a UFC return, the UFC lightweight world title will go absent defenses for two-straight years, and Dana is not having that. The UFC boss told Yahoo Sports this week that, “As long as Conor is willing to fight by March, we could do Khabib versus Tony and then the winner fights Conor for the title. If Conor wants to sit out until next fall, then we’d have to make Khabib versus Tony for the title, not the interim title.”

Lately though, despite his doubters, McGregor has returned to his home gym at SBG, in Ireland, and resumed full-time MMA training. As we can see his passion for competition and the sport that made him an icon come back to center stage, the likelihood he’ll return for his fans seems ever more apparent.

In a new lengthy statement to his Instagram, Conor talked about a particular BJJ technique, and he does so so passionately, that it’s nearly intoxicating to read.

McGregor then goes on to talk about getting paid for these types of moves, and in present tense, indicating that he’s got more paydays in MMA ahead of him.

Sure, he doesn’t come right out and say that a return to the UFC is emminent, but if you read between the lines, he definitely isn’t closed off to the idea. And if anything, it sounds like he’s getting ready to get paid again for being a killer in the cage.

Here’s what Conor McGregor had to say:

This moment was survived.

The arm was kept locked out straight as pictured, allowing the absolute smallest pocket of air in as possible. The blood will still supply to the brain and you stay breathing.

If i move to side control here, the force of the strangle shifts to either side of the neck blocking the carotid arteries and crushing the trachea , stopping the blood supply to the brain and you are then dead.

Jiu Jitsu is not designed to hurt you. It is designed to kill you.

It is a mad game.

You pay me multiple millions of dollars for this.
