Stipe Miocic Responds To Dana White’s Call To Face Daniel Cormier Next

Stipe Miocic has now come forward with a reaction to the news that Dana White is interested in the heavyweight champion taking on Daniel Cormier.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) put on quite the show over the weekend. UFC 220 went down on Saturday night, Jan. 20, inside the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The event featured two exciting title fights.

In the night’s headliner, UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic put on a dominant display in a record breaking performance. The fighter earned a unanimous decision victory over rising knockout artist Francis Ngannou, breaking the UFC record for most consecutive heavyweight title defenses with his third win.

The co-main event saw UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier defend his title from tough contender Volkan Oezdemir in another dominant fashion. Cormier earned a TKO victory in the second round after nearly submitting the fighter in the first.

Following the exciting event, UFC President Dana White revealed that he is interested in seeing Cormier and Miocic face off for a super fight. Cormier initially competed in the heavyweight division, making it possible that the light heavyweight champion may move up to challenge Stipe Miocic for his title.

Speaking with UFC correspondent Megan Olivi after UFC 220, Miocic offered his reaction to the news.

“Yeah, we’ll talk.” Miocic said. “But, I don’t really care about that right now. I’m tired. I just want to go home.”
