The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is gearing up to host another exciting night of fights. This time around, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion will be offering a historic main event for fight fans around the world.

The highly anticipated fight card of UFC 224 is set to take place over the weekend. The event goes down Saturday, May 12, inside the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Headlining the night’s card, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes will be looking to defend her title once again as she faces off against rising challenger Raquel Pennington. The exciting match up will be a historic one for the promotion.

Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington are both openly gay mixed martial artists. Nunes is in a relationship with UFC women’s strawweight Nina Ansaroff, while Pennington is engaged to UFC women’s strawweight Tecia Torres.

Now Nunes and Pennington will be battling it out for division dominance in the first UFC event to ever be headlined by two openly gay fighters.
