Throwback To When Matt Mitrione Played For NFL’s Minnesota Vikings

Matt Mitrione may be an experienced and top level mixed martial artist now. But, there was a time when the fighter was a professional football player. Now Mitrione has taken to social media to reminisce about his days as a defensive lineman for the Minnesota Vikings.

Mitrione attended Purdue University on a football scholarship, starting on the school’s team as a defensive tackle. Mitrione would go on to play for the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings. However, the player’s NFL days were brief, as Mitrione was plagued by a debilitating foot injury.
