Replay: The Only Successful Offense CM Punk Landed In His Career As A UFC Fighter

Phil Brooks, better known by his WWE moniker CM Punk, made his big octagon return after two years away from the cage over the weekend. Now fight fans can take a look at one of the former WWE star’s few successful moments from inside the octagon.

CM Punk began his brief mixed martial arts career under the banner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Having taken on Mickey Gall, Punk suffered a devastating first round submission loss.

After being hard in training for two years, Punk returned to the octagon for UFC 225 on Saturday, June 9. From within the United Center in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois, Punk went toe-to-toe with Mike Jackson.

Both fighters were 0-1 in their MMA careers, having each suffered tough losses to Mickey Gall. However, Mike Jackson managed to put on a dominant performance over his opponent at UFC 225.

The fighter ultimately walked away with a unanimous decision victory over CM Punk. While Punk had few successful offenses inside the octagon, the professional wrestler turned mixed martial artist did manage to score a takedown on his opponent.
