Daniel Cormier Falls At Presser, Gets Injured Ahead Of Saturday’s UFC 226 Main Event

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is currently gearing up to face off against reigning UFC heavyweight title holder Stipe Mioic for his title. While the highly anticipated super fight is set to go down this Saturday, Cormier suffered a tumble at a recent press conference for the event.

Cormier and Mioic are set to face off in the main event of UFC 226. The live pay-per-view main card will take place within the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 7 as part of International Fight Week.

In anticipation for the fight card, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently held a pre-fight press conference. During the conference, Cormier began to walk away from his seat on the conference stage when the champion stumbled over a speaker.

The title holder fell to the ground and remained there for a few moments, before being helped up by surrounding individuals. Cormier then limped off of the stage.

Later speaking to ESPN, Daniel Cormier revealed that he is resting in his hotel room and is icing his now injured leg. As far as how the fall occurred, Cormier answered “I didn’t see the speaker and don’t know why it was there.”
