UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former title holder Conor McGregor were recently each spotted at the World Cup finals in Russia today. While Conor McGregor earned a guest spot under Russian President Vladimir Putin, “The Eagle” did not. Now the Dagestan native has come forward with a response.
Nurmagomedov first revealed that he attended the World Cup finals over Instagram.

Conor McGregor quickly followed up by revealing that he was invited to the finals as a guest to the Russian President.
“Today I was invited to the World Cup final as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This man is one of the greatest leaders of our time and I was honored to attend such a landmark event alongside him. Today was an honor for me Mr. Putin. Thank you and congratulations on an amazing World Cup.”
