Dana Gives Khabib His Belt After All, And Saves Himself From Russian’s Wrath In The Process

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted mixed martial arts megastar Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229 on Saturday, Oct. 6. Despite having defeated the Ireland native and having defended his title, “The Eagle” did not have the UFC lightweight belt wrapped around his waist after the victory.

Directly after the fight, Nurmagomedov leaped over the cage and attacked Conor McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis. A fracas quickly ensued between McGregor and Nurmagomedov’s cornermen.

UFC President Dana White refused to place the belt around Khabib Nurmagomedov’s waist during the official fight result announcement that later followed. The UFC executive later claimed that he believed wrapping the belt around Khabib Nurmagomedov would have only increased tension within the arena.

However, Khabib Nurmagomedov has now taken to social media to reveal that he has since been given his title. Somewhat threatening the UFC president, Nurmagomedov broke the news over Instagram. Check it out below.

“@danawhite you lucky that you give my belt, or I would smash your car, I know your parking location #SendmeLocaition”
