Daniel Cormier Breaks His Silence On Being Stripped By The UFC

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former title challenger Alexander Gustafsson are now set to fight for the belt within the main event of UFC 232. Consequently, two-division champion Daniel Cormier will be stripped of his UFC light heavyweight title at the beginning of the event.

Speaking on The MMA Hour, Daniel Cormier has now come forward to reveal his thoughts on the matter.

“It sucks because I defended the belt in January. I do understand the promotion having to move forward. I am not so stuck in myself that I believe they could never, or they would just wait for me as long as I needed them to wait.”

“I understand, but it does suck. It is what it is at this point. I’m not going to change it. What’s the point in wasting the energy on complaining. I’m just going to go into this thing at Nov. 3 as double champion and hopefully defend my title and then I will be the heavyweight champion of the world and move forward to the Brock Lesnar fight.”
