Arum Vows To Step Aside So Mayweather vs. McGregor Can Hapen

It seems like a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is more likely to happen than not.

Last week, Manny Pacquiao threw his name into the hat into wanting to fight McGregor. UFC president Dana White shot it down pretty down but it wasn’t because he doesn’t like Pacquiao.

“Listen, I love Manny Pacquiao,” White told Yahoo! Sports. “But I don’t love Bob Arum. You can tell Arum to save his money and not make any calls over here because we aren’t doing business with him.”

Arum, who is promoter of Top Rank, which Pacquiao is apart of has long been a proponent of the UFC so it is understandble for White to grandstand on the idea.

The legendary promoter though said he doesn’t have be apart of the proceedings for the fight to happen.

“I don’t have to be involved,” Arum told TMZ. “I ain’t getting in the ring. But that’s an easy fight for Manny, and I would love for that fight to happen.”

“(The ball’s) in their court,” he continued. “If the only impediment to Manny Pacquiao fighting Conor McGregor is because Dana doesn’t like me, then I won’t be around. I would give Manny the right and the permission to fight Conor McGregor any time the money is right for Manny.”
Arum would love for the boxing legend to face the UFC lightweight champion. He feels it would be an easy day at office for his biggest cash cow.
“Yeah, sure, Manny Pacquiao would like to fight Conor McGregor in boxing,” Arum said. “Any fighter would like to fight Conor McGregor, because they’d knock him out.”
