Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is in Brooklyn, New York for UFC 208 on Saturday night.
Before going to the fights, Justino visited Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn. Gleason’s Gym is one of the oldest boxing gyms in the country.
At one point in their careers, Gleason’s Gym was the home to some of boxing’s most iconic figures including Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Roberto Duran, and Paulie Malignaggi.
Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm will fight Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship in the main event of UFC 208.
“Cyborg” is the current Invicta featherweight champion. She was also the first, and only, woman to hold the Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Championship.
Justino is currently serving a temporary suspension from USADA after testing positive for banned substances in an out-of-competition drug test. However, according to UFC President Dana White, it appears Justino may receive a retroactive therapeutic-use exemption due to medication she took that contained the banned substances.
