Going into this past Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 104, it seemed that all Jessica Andrade had to do was beat Angela Hill and she would be next in line for a shot at women’s strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
The Brazilian held up her end of the bargain, defeating Hill by unanimous decision. And the UFC held up theirs as on post-fight show, president Dana White said Andrade would get the next shot at dethroning Jedrzejczyk.
Andrade earned a shot at the title after going on a three-fight win streak in the division.
In June, at UFC 199, Andrade made her strawweight debut against former title challenger Jessica Penne, defeating her by second round TKO.
In September, at UFC 203, Andrade submitted Joanne Calderwood with a guillotine choke at the end of the first round.
White did not confirm when the fight would happen. However, the 115-pound champion recently started a training camp for her next fight, which suggests the fight may happen sooner rather than later.
