Conor McGregor has a lot on his plate right now. He’s trying to clear up his UFC 202 pre-fight conference water bottle-throwing incident with the Nevada Athletic Commission. And he’s trying to setup a boxing match with pugilistic legend, Floyd Mayweather.
After he beat Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title at UFC 205 back in November, McGregor revealed him and girlfriend Dee Devlin were expecting their first child in May. He also announced he wouldn’t return to the octagon until after the child was born.
McGregor threw a twist in the situation when he said recently if the UFC hadn’t stripped of the featherweight title, he would have defended it at UFC 209 on Mar. 4 against either Max Holloway or Jose Aldo.
When will the “Notorious” one return and do what he does best?
“There’s nothing really to talk about,” UFC president Dana White told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. “He’s out on maternity leave right now, and after his girl has the baby, we’ll offer him another fight.”
What happens first after his child is born: a fight against Mayweather or a UFC return?
