Following his stunning victory over Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 105, heavyweight Derrick Lewis has come forward with his plans for the future. In as engaging fashion as some have come to expect from “The Black Beast,” Lewis gave some ideas on who he wants inside the octagon next within an interview on The MMA Hour podcast.
In an interview with Arieal Helwani, Lewis discussed rising UFC star Francis Ngannou.
“He’s a good guy. He’s a real good fighter. A lot of people want to see me and him match up and I’m like ‘Of course, it’s America. They like to see that black on black crime.’ Whenever the time comes, when Dana White calls me and asks me if I want to fight him, yeah I’m going to fight him.”
While Ngannou is a considerable prospect, Lewis admitted that he is up for whatever comes.
Lewis is currently riding the longest winning streak among active UFC heavyweights, with six victories under his belt. His most recent accomplishment was a second round KO of Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 105 two weeks ago.
