From the looks of things, it appears there could a little heavyweight title tournament going down at UFC 211.
Coming off the heels of the report from MMAFighting.com of Stipe Miocic defending the heavyweight title against former champion Junior dos Santos, Globo.com is reporting former heavyweight champ Fabricio Werdum will be going up against Ben Rothwell.
Werdum and Rothwell were set to battle at UFC 203 in September but the Wisconsin native suffered a knee injury. Werdum beat Travis Browne at the event and then was scheduled for a rematch against another former heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez at UFC 207 in December. The fight was scrapped when Velasquez suffered a back injury and Werdum opted to not fight on the card even though a fight against dos Santos was offered.
“Big Ben” lost his last fight which was to dos Santos in April at UFC Fight Night 86 but had previously won four consecutive fights.
