UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw are coaching the 25th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” and will meet for the title later in 2017.
The former teammates at Team Alpha Male really don’t care for each other too much. “No Love” feels the former champion is trying to make him a certain way to the media and doesn’t feel his former teammate is being genuine in the matter.
“I take it as just me being real, just confronting problems,” Garbrandt said the TUF Media Day on Wednesday. “That’s what I think fake people don’t do. That’s T.J. He’s the fakest person I ever met. From the beginning.”
The undefeated Garbrandt (11-0) shocked the world in December at UFC 207 when he defeated Dominick Cruz to become the 135-pound champion. When asked on how the Dillashaw fight will play out, the champion was confident he would stop the fight.
“I know I will knock out T.J. — 100 percent I’ll knock out T.J.,” he said. “I don’t have to go out there and get the knockout. I’m gonna go out there and perform. I’m gonna go out there and have fun. I’m just finally hitting my stride.”
“TUF 25: Redemption” begins on April 19 on Fox Sports 1.
