“Meathead” Mitrione has finally put his latest road block behind him, but at what cost?
Bellator heavyweight Matt Mitrione has had an unfortunate few weeks, as the former TUF competitor was forced to back out of Bellator 172’s main event.
Mitrione was ready to greet heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko in the main event of Bellator 172, but was hospitalized just hours before the fight by a kidney stone.
“The Last Emperor” Emelianenko would have made his Bellator debut at the event, but a new opponent could be booked on such short notice. The heavyweight legend will have to wait a little longer to see the inside of a Bellator cage.
In a recent tweet, Mitrione showed a terrifying 26cm stent, in which was used to remove the stone. The fighter said, “Last thing I’ll post about it cuz it’s now history. I pulled this 26cm stent from my pee hole. I’m done.”
With this roadblock now behind him, Mitrione is looking to get back into the cage as soon as possible. Whether Mitrione will be facing “The Last Emperor” or not is up to the fight date.
