With a 17-5 record, ONE lightweight champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang is a dangerous contender in the division. In 2016, Folayang went undefeated with three victories over the time span. The fighter ended the year with a championship belt around his waist, as he defeated Shinya Aoki at ONE: Defending Honor in November of last year.

Folayang started the year off with a victory over Tetsuya Yamada at ONE: Clash of Heroes in January of last year. “Landslide” took home a unanimous decision for his first victory of the year.

Secondly, Folayang garnered another unanimous decision against Adrian Pang at ONE: Heroes of the World in August of last year. The win earned Folayang a shot at the title with Shinya Aoki at ONE: Defending Honor.

“Landslide” pulled out a TKO victory in the third round against the former lightweight champion, earning him the title for himself.
