Sam Alvey is One Fight Away from Breaking UFC Record

"Smiling" Sam Alvey is going to step in on seven days notice to fight at the UFC Fight NIght Poland card headlined by Donald Cerrone vs. Darren Till.

In an interview with MMA Fighting on SBN, UFC middleweight contender Sam Alvey proclaimed his interest in breaking a UFC record. He said,

“Something you might not know, but I am very aware of, is I just tied the record for most fights in one year’s time. I want to beat that record.”

Alvey is currently tied with UFC lightweight Roger Huerta, welterweight Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, and fellow welterweight Neil Magny. The current record is five bouts in a single year’s time, meaning Alvey will need a sixth bout by June 18, 2017 in order to break the record.

Sam Alvey is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Nate Marquardt at last night’s UFC on Fox 23 in Denver, Colorado.
