In 2013, Valentina Shevchenko was a virtual unknown in the combat sports world. She was a world Muay Thai champion and even defeated current UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
In November of that year, the No. 1 contender to the women’s bantamweight title appeared on the Peruvian reality show, “Combate”. During this particular episode, “Bullet” performed to a Reggaeton song and used a pole as part of her routine.
Shevchenko is 3-1 in the UFC including beating former 135-pound champion Holly Holm and top contender Julianna Pena in her last two fights. She’s expected to challenge champion, Amanda Nunes later in 2017.
