After the 1999 cult classic “Fight Club”, starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, was released into theaters, many fans of the film imagined what it would be like to a part of a real-life fight club.
At Mt Eden Corrections in New Zealand, inmates created that fantasy with an actual fight club.
It is not known how this footage has made its way to YouTube. Cameras and mobile devices are banned in prisons. So not only are inmates finding a way to sneak in recording devices, but they are also finding a way to post the fights online.
It is expected that a prison gang is putting on these organized fights. These bouts are not like normal prison brawls, both combatants are agreeing to the fight. The fights are over after one person has taken enough damage.
Regardless these fights are brutal and it is astonishing they are able to take place without prison security stopping them.
