WSOF has been struggling as of late. The promotion has canceled multiple events over the past few months. Their next event, WSOF 35, was originally scheduled to take place on Feb. 28, but will now happen on March 18.
Last year, WSOF canceled two events that were scheduled to take place in November and December.
WSOF is also struggling to keep their talent. WSOF Bantamweight Champion Marlon Moraes recently became a free agent and has expressed he wants to go to the UFC. Moraes is one of WSOF’s top homegrown stars.
WSOF Welterweight Champion Jon Fitch said he is contemplating retirement following his recent title defense against Jake Shields.
While the future of WSOF is unsure at the moment, their next event will feature three title fights. WSOF Heavyweight Champion Blagoi Ivanov will defend his title against UFC veteran Shawn Jordan in the main event. Team Alpha Male’s Lance Palmer will defend his featherweight title against Andre Harrison in the co-main event. WSOF will also crown a new bantamweight champion as Bekbulat Magomedov fights Timur Valiev.
