Fighter Arrested Following One Punch Walk-Off Knockout In Florida

St. Patrick’s Day is a wonderful celebration. Yet where the beer flows, so does trouble from time to time.

As reported by Tampa Bay Times, a University of South Florida student lies in  a hospital with critical injuries in St. Petersburg. Brian Neal reportedly got into a fight with three individuals. After being punched, Neal fell to the pavement and struck his head, leading to his critical condition.

A mixed martial arts fighter by the name of Zachary Kenneth Allen has been arrested for allegedly punching Neal and causing him to strike his head.

Allen has been featured in Facebook adds for the promotion “Fight to Win,” according to Police.

Legal experts may treat the case differently. Allen’s background in MMA may affect the outcome. He may now be considered a deadly weapon by prosecutors.

Clearwater defense lawyer Denis deVlaming told Tampa Bay Times,

“It’s not the same as two schoolhouse kids flailing away at each other,” deVlaming explained. “It becomes something disproportionate. … It ain’t a fair fight.”
