Luke Rockhold is hungry for another chance at the title, but thinks the UFC is going down a “slippery slope.”
Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold has not fought in the UFC since his title losing match to Michael Bisping at UFC 199. While the former champion is looking to get another shot at the title, he is unsure when that hope will come to fruition.
On a recent episode of UFC Tonight, Rockhold shared his thoughts on “The Count” facing now returning Georges St-Pierre instead of someone ranked in the division, like himself.
As transcribed by Fox Sports, Rockhold explained
“It’s chaos isn’t it? I think they’re running down a slippery slope. I think things could easily get out of hand. You never know what these guys are going to do. Georges [St-Pierre] isn’t going to fight anybody in the top of our division if he wins this fight. [Michael] Bisping could potentially be in the same boat. I’m bummed they took this route and it’s kind of taking away from the sport. Heart of the sport, it’s about the top guys fighting each other. This isn’t WWE. This is fighting. This is what it’s all about.
“So when they make moves like this it definitely makes you question a lot of things and what you’re doing and how you approach things.”
An official date for middleweight champion Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre’s title fight has yet to be announced.
