After being just two fights removed from winning the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s women’s bantamweight title at “UFC 196”, Miesha Tate decided to hang up her gloves on the grandest stage of them all at “UFC 205”. Her fight with Raquel Pennington ended in a unanimous decision loss for the former champion, and she hinted that her fighting spirit was not what it used to be.
Tate made a seamless transition to the analyst role on Fox Sports 1 and has made multiple appearances for the UFC at events. The day after partaking in a question and answer session in London, she was shown on the broadcast of “UFC Fight Night 107” sitting next to Mickey Gall. Gall, just twenty-five years old, and Tate were then photoshopped into a rather risque meme:
