Nick Diaz Explains Why He Felt Sorry For Eddie Alvarez

In the wake of Conor McGregor’s victorious match-up against former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, welterweight Nick Diaz gave his two cents on Alvarez and his swift loss to the current champ.

In a recent interview, as seen above, Diaz explained:

“I have nothing against Alvarez. I like Alvarez. I’ve never had anything bad to say about him.” While Diaz doubled down that he has no interest in bad mouthing the fighter, he did admit that something seemed off in how Alvarez approached the fight.

“I don’t care. He can say whatever he wants. I’m just disappointed in him for the fight. I want to feel sorry for him. I want to go like, ‘Man, I feel bad for you.’ But, what do you think you’re going to get?” Diaz continued.

“I don’t want to disrespect Eddie Alvarez, but what I’m saying is that he has invested a lot of his time and efforts elsewhere. In the time leading up to that fight, I think McGregor put a lot more time into it.”
