No More Mr. Nice Guy — “Wonderboy” Gets In Heated Argument With Woodley On National T.V.

UFC No. 1 welterweight contender Stephen Thompson has kept a fairly level head in the press events leading up to tomorrow night’s UFC 209 title fight. In an interview with Fancy Combat, “Wonderboy” almost let his cool slip, though he regained composure before making Tyron Woodley laugh.

“Wonderboy” is set to face welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in tomorrow night’s title fight rematch main event for UFC 209.

In an interview with Fancy Combat, “Wonderboy” was being interviewed alongside the current champion, Tyron Woodley. Woodley prodded his opponent by saying, “But you got out-struck by me in the fight, so it’s kind of funny that you say that.”

Thompson and Woodley first met inside the octagon at UFC 205, in which the bout landed a majority draw.

Thompson responded to Woodley, “It’s alright, man. You hit me twice in the fourth round.”

The two went back and forth over how each other performed in their striking at UFC 205, before Thompson was asked if the upcoming fight would be a personal one.

When asked if the fight was personal for “Wonderboy”, Thompson explained that there is nothing personal. He wants to fight the best.

Once Woodley told Thompson that he was only going to UFC 209 to “fool himself”, Thompson replied “It’s alright, man. I don’t know why you have to be so mean, man. This guy is so mean.”

The two fighters shared a hearty laugh, before ending the clip.

UFC 209 is tomorrow night inside the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena.
