On March 27, 2011, former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey made her professional MMA debut. In classic Rousey fashion, the former champion took home a victory within the very first round.
Ronda Rousey has been out of the fight game for a while, with her most recent match-up being last December against Amanda Nunes. Under a two fight losing streak, many believe Rousey has unofficially retired from the sport. UFC President Dana White is among those of opinion.
Since her most recent bout, Rousey has been keeping busy in other ways. Rousey was recently featured in the hit television show Blindspot. The show’s lead has high hopes of returning to the set for another season.
But before Rousey could win the UFC championship belt or be featured in television, the fighting phenom had her first professional fight. Rousey defeated Ediane Gomes by way of armbar submission in the very first 30 seconds of round one.
