UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson is looking to get back in the octagon after scrapped fight at UFC 209.
Ferguson was set to face Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 209. But after weight management issues, Nurmagomedov was unable to compete, leaving Ferguson without a fight and the UFC without a co-main event.
On today’s edition of The MMA Hour, Ferguson gave his thoughts ont he future. He has Nate Diaz in mind for a potential interim title fight.
“I’m ready, my body doesn’t know anything different but to fight right now. That’s what I want to do, I want to fight soon, for the belt. I’m just throwing names out there, but I think Nate Diaz and myself could actually put on a good show. I think his ranking is kind of (expletive), too.” Ferguson said.
Nate Diaz is currently No. 8 in the lightweight division, as Ferguson is No. 2 in the division.
