After talks of a Royal Rumble tag team match began yesterday, it would appear that Ronda Rousey is getting some attention from Paul Heyman.
Former Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino called out Ronda Rousey yesterday. “Cyborg” challenged the former UFC bantamweight champion to a Royal Rumble WWE tag team match.
Now, it would appear that WWE promoter Paul Heyman has some thoughts of his own on Rousey making a WWE appearance.
On a recent episode of the Fight Society podcast, as transcribed by MMA Mania, Heyman said
“I think the WWE audience would embrace Ronda Rousey with open arms. Just her name recognition alone is huge. It doesn’t matter, her past two experiences in the UFC. All that matters is if she got involved in a story that people could relate to and sink their teeth into and get excited about.
“I would personally pay to see Charlotte versus Ronda Rousey. I would totally pay to Stephanie McMahon versus Ronda Rousey for a completely different reason, but I digress. I think Ronda Rousey doing anything in WWE is a natural fit. I’d love to see it, and would be happy to discuss with her all the benefits that she could ensure by being a Paul Heyman girl.”
Rousey has recently been tryin her hand at acting, as the former champion turned actress recently snagged a role in the hit television show Blindspot.
