Joe Rogan has a knack for using his Joe Rogan Experience podcast to capture some hilarious moments with UFC fighters. Getting those fighters to swap embarrassing stories is one of his best talents on the show.
Most recently, retired UFC veteran Julie Kedzie was featured on the show.
In the episode, Kedzie delved into the time she soiled herself in front of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Back in 2007, Kedzie fought Julia Berezikova at Bodog: Clash of Nations in St. Petersburg, Russia. Apparently, Kedzie faced a amjor malfunction during the match.
As transcribed by Bloody Elbow, “In between rounds, another cornerman put cold water on the back of my neck and I thought that I just farted,” Kedzie told Rogan. “I thought it was a fart but it turns out…”
Directly after the bout, Kedzie was put on a bus with other fighters from the night and taken to a palace in St. Petersburg. She had no clue where they were going.
“I’m standing there in fight clothes. I’m like, ‘What is that smell?’ I had seen a guy puking backstage because of a headshot and I thought I must have rolled in it or stepped in it. I smelled so bad.”
“And Jean-Claude Van Damme randomly walks up to us. Fedor [Emelianenko] was there, Jean-Claude Van Damme, this and that. It was just weird and surreal and I already had head trauma going on so wasn’t really in my right mind.”
After a quick bathroom break, Kedzie discovered what was actually going on. She cleaned herself up and returned to the event, to be hit on by foreign dignitaries.
“So then I have to go back out there and (former Italian Prime Minister) Silvio Berlusconi was hitting on me and trying to pick me up,” Kedzie said. “He was like, ‘Hey, can I be your boyfriend tonight?’”
“He’s saying it through a translator. And I’m like, ‘I smell like s–t.’ I was as cleaned up as I could be, but I was like, ‘You are a dirty [expletive].’”
“And Putin comes and puts his arm around me and I’m like, ‘This is weird as hell.’ I s–t myself in front of foreign dignitaries in another country. And that’s probably my favorite MMA story.”
