Bellator 178 went down Friday night with Bellator MMA featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire successfully defending his belt from rising challenger Daniel Straus. Now, the commission seems to have disliked the champion’s celebration.
The champion sank in a gulliotine choke on his opponent in the second round, locking in a submission victory for the fighter. Shortly after defeating Daniel Straus, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire decided to do a little celebrating.
The fighter leaped on top of the cage and screamed with joy. However, the local commission seems to have taken a distaste to the champion’s climb of the cage.
Manager to “Pitbull” Freire, Matheus Aquino took to Twitter to say “One other fact, the comission fined him 2500 dollars for getting on top of the cage. Way to ruin the mood.”
